La Esquina Cocina: A Scenic Mexican Dining Experience on Lake Guntersville

La Esquina is a wonderful Mexican restaurant/bar with a unique and tasty menu. The interior is a beautiful space that is located at City Harbor on Lake Guntersville. There are lakeside outdoor tables, and the restaurant and bar area have scenic views of the lake as well. My server/bartender was professional and friendly. I had some questions about City Harbor, and she was very knowledgeable and helpful, fully answering my questions. The bar has a nice selection of top shelf beverages that are showcased in a nicely categorized display. I had the three tacos filled with grilled beef, topped with chopped onions, cilantro, and I believe, salsa verde with a side of rice and beans ...they were fantastic!

Everything was absolutely delicious! I would definitely come back here again. From the food to the service they knew what they were doing. Great friendly atmosphere

Wow. Just wow. Culinarily speaking wow. I’ve tried a lot of “spin on Mexican food” places and this is the only one that hits the standard of amazing. The tacos were so good. Every dish was not just beautiful it tasted amazing. Hats off to the chef. Seriously. 10/10 oh and the adorable waitress was so sweet and kind even though she was running crazy. She was fantastic.

The burrito was bland, nothing exciting. The salmon was overcooked, dry and bland. The chorizo artichoke dip was bland. How can you have a bland artichoke dip with chorizo? The food is expensive, so we were expecting better.

We are local and this this is the first time we have eaten here! We went for our anniversary and we really liked it a lot! Very nice dining atmosphere, staff are nice and food was really good! Portions are large, prices are good and fair for the quality and amount of food you get. I tried some of my husband's steak fajitas and it was very tender and seasoned well. And...they did not charge us a fee for using our debit card. The fee is only charged if you use a credit card. That was a nice surprise! More restaurants need to follow their lead on that part! We will for sure be back! Totally recommend!

Had lunch here. They have beautiful views of Lake Guntersville with outside and inside seating. Ordered the 3 tacos plate and had carnita, carne asada, and asian tacos. They were the smaller tacos on corn tortillas but heaped with meat and toppings with a side of rice. All 3 tacos were very delicious and tasty and the rice had a few vegetables mixed in which I liked. The chips and salsa are extra but the chips were freshly made and crispy and the 2 accompany salsas were very tasty. We enjoyed our food and the gorgeous views. Luckily it wasn't crowded for lunch so we did not have a long wait to be seated. Afterwards, we walked around the harbor and enjoyed the lake views. We'll definitely be back.

This is not the stereotypical Mexican restaurant with the usual numbered combo plates. This is more of a culinary adventure with tastes and flavors of Mexico. We had a Mahi dish that was cooked perfectly and presented just so . We did have chips, salsa and cheese dip the were excellent although we didn't love the thick chips. We went late on Thursday with most of the guests seated outside on a deck with the lake a few feet away. I really like this restaurant!

This is the second time in 3 days we’ve stopped in for food. Quality food and ingredients, loved the explosion of flavors! Tonight we had the side of guacamole, enchilada verde and a shrimp taco with a side of the very unique poblano creamed corn! So fun!
